Sad News

Tonight I have some bad news. Our dog, Rusty, died today. My parents are in Florida on vacation and won't be home until tomorrow. Herman found Rusty in the garage at my parents' house. He was lying down on a rug in the sunlight, where he always like to sleep. We got Rusty and Bailey in October 1994 when they were only 4 months old. Rusty was such a sweetheart and we will miss him so much!

Bedtime!

Last night after his bath, I took Cody into my room to get him lotioned, diapered, and dressed in his PJ's. He doesn't LOVE the lotion part. He usually tolerates it, but after he has his lotion on, and no diaper, all he wants to do is lie down on my pillow. I was trying to take some pictures of him and he kept lying down so that I couldn't get a good picture. Although it's not the picture I was looking for, I still think it's adorable. After all-he is my son!

Fun at Nana's house!

At Nana's house, Cody has one cupboard in the kitchen that he's allowed to play in and he loves playing with the Tupperware! He takes it all out and stacks it up and wears the collander like a hat and sometimes he even attempts to put it away! The only problem with Nana's Tupperware cupboard is that he thinks he's allowed to demolish Momma's Tupperware cupboard and that is not the case! :)

Christmas with the Vranichs

After dinner at Grandma's in Coachella, we drove to Riverside for dinner with my family at my parent's house. Caryn and Mike were there, along with our next door neighbor and good family friend, Herman. We spent a lot of time catching up before dinner and since it got to be so late, Cody didn't hang around for much present opening. This is a present from Cody's godfather and family. He opened this shirt and really liked the firetruck on it and he tried to hold it up all by himself. Thanks Mark, Sarah, Nolan, and Vivi!

Christmas with the Kiemeles

Cody with Grandpa and cousin Ryan

On Christmas Eve, we hosted dinner for Rob's family. Let me be a little clearer, dinner was at our house. No, I didn't do all of the cooking. Rob's sister, Rachelle, came over and prepared everything earlier in the day. Rob, Cody, and I went to church and when we returned home everyone was waiting for us! We had a great prime rib dinner thanks to Rachelle and the kids had lots of presents to open!

On Christmas day, we drove out to Coachella for an early dinner (1 pm) with Rob's grandma and extended family. Cody loves getting to see all of the other kids and playing in the backyard with them. He spends so much time outside at Grandma's that he always wears his play clothes!

This is Cody's Christmas present from Grandma and boy, does he love it! He loves basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and cars! This is a real basketball and Cody has gotten it taken away many times for throwing it at Momma! He has several basketballs that he shoots all day long in his hoop in the living room! We estimate he shoots roughly 75 shots a day! This boy LOVES basketball-like father, like son! I can't wait to watch him play!

Christmas at Aunt Carol's

On Sunday, Dec. 23, we all went down to Tustin to my Aunt Carol's house for our family Christmas. Aunt Carol is my mom's older sister. All four of her sons were there with their families, as well. Cody had a great time running around the back yard with Alec, Isabel, Alston, Emma, Anwen, and all of the dogs! It was crazy! My son thinks he's as big as all of the older kids although he's not nearly as coordinated! Nana and Pa were able to grab Cody for a quick pic! It was great for us so that we didn't have to drive all over on Christmas day!

Semi-formal!

Okay, okay, so here are some new pics! Too bad they're still a month after the fact! These pics are from the sorority semi-formal that was on Dec. 21. The first picture is of the advisors that went-Stephanie, Shauna, Renee, and me. We, the advisors, had dinner at Yamazato's in San Bernardino, and then went to the dance. We had a good time hanging out and it's nice to be able to do something with the boys too! Even if we have to bribe them. "Steve and Omar are going-you have to go!" That's how it works! And thanks to mom and dad for watching Cody!
