Shots!

The day after Easter was finally time for Cody's 18-month shots. Yes, I know that he's 21-months, but Kaiser isn't the best at scheduling timely appointments. Then we have to work around my work schedule and the doctor's schedule so we're a little behind!
This time Cody was pretty excited about the little hospital gowns. Okay, Momma really thought that they were cute! I didn't know that they made them so small! He did pretty well until it was time for the shots. Of course he screamed his lungs out! I was just excited that he finally got weighed and measured again. He's 36" tall and 28 1/2 lbs now! I can't believe how big he's gotten!

Easter!

Easter! What a long day it was! We started off going to breakfast with Rob's family at 9 am. Rob had the camera in the other car, so there are no pics! Breakfast started to wind down about 10:30 and then it was time to head home and get Cody down for a nap. I realized then that if I wanted to make it to church, I was going to be going by myself. I headed off to an 11 am Mass at a nearby church, instead of the church that I usually go to in Riverside. As I walked in the door after church, at about 12:15 pm, guess who woke up from his nap? We decided to join Rob's sister Rachelle and his niece Rylee with their in-laws at Sylvan Park in Redlands. We spent a couple of hours there and Cody had a great time playing with his cousin Rylee and the other kids.
Say "cheese"!

From the park, we headed over to my parents' house for dinner and a small hunt for Cody's Easter basket. He didn't really understand what he was doing or why he was looking for something, but when he found the basket, he thought it was pretty cool! Thanks Nana and Pa! We were also thrilled to see Uncle Caryn and Mikey Ike and happy that Aunt Carol and Herman were able to join us for dinner!
I think we finally made it home by 8 pm, which definitely is a long day! I hope that you all had a very happy Easter with your families!

St. Patty's Day party!

This year my parents' St. Patty's Day party was on March 15. It was tons of fun and great to see so many of our friends! I didn't take very many pictures on my camera. I think my sister took many more on her camera! Here are a couple of the pics that I had!

The Biggest Fat Lip in the History of the World!

So this is what Cody's lip looked like after taking a fall at day care!

This is still the fat lip, but it's also a good picture of Cody's favorite activity-basketball! The fat lip was a while ago, but he is still enjoying the basketball hoop! (Thanks again Steph and Steve!) And he is LOVING March Madness! Thank goodness Momma loves watching college basketball too!
Go UCLA!!

San Francisco and ADPi

Well, it's been over a month, but there's still something to celebrate. My good friend (and fellow ADPi advisor) Stephanie had never been on an airplane. NEVER! She said that she was afraid, but I think it's just because the chance had never come up. This year ADPi's District Leadership Conference (DLC) was set to held in San Francisco so I had to talk Steph into taking the big step so that I didn't have to go by myself.
The big day came and Steph started getting pretty nervous on the way to LAX, so after we checked in and made it to our gate, off we went in search of a cold beer to calm some nerves! The take-off was a little shaky and the landing was worse (although I have since regained full use of my arm), but we made it through!
The other good thing is that we now have six advisors so I wouldn't have had to go by myself anyway!
Here we are before take-off: Alison, me, and Stephanie

We were able to go down to Pier 39 on Friday night for dinner and some shopping. We all had a great time learning and for some us re-learning to use the public transportation in SF! For the remainder of the weekend, we were stuck in meetings and such, but it was a lot of fun. It was wonderful to get to meet with so many Alpha Delta Pi's!

These are all the members from our chapter at CSUSB that attended DLC.

Random Cody pictures

So I bet that you didn't know that my son is a model.
Check out this pose-taken while he was sleeping!

This is one of Cody's favorite things to play with! As we pull into the driveway after work he starts saying, "outside, outside." It's cute because he says it like a question- "outside???" He's pretty good too. He runs down the grass, kicks the ball, runs to the ball, kicks it again,
on and on it goes!

This one is great! Hey Mom! Look what happens when I stick my fingers down my throat right after I've had a cup of milk!...in the car, on the way home! Did I tell you how much I love being a mom??

Surprise! It's Rob's birthday!

So we got back from Vegas on Saturday afternoon and I had arranged a surprise birthday brunch for Rob on Sunday morning at our favorite brunch spot, El Torito. I had Spleeve and Steph in on the surprise. Boy, are they good at keeping secrets! Anyway, Rob thought that we were just going to meet Spleeve, Steph, and their son Stephen Lucas for brunch. When we got there, he was surprised to see both of his parents, his sister and niece, his brother and his girlfriend, my parents, and my sister and her boyfriend! It was a lot of fun and we even got to sit in the cantina with our favorite waitress, Martha!

Happy Birthday to me!

So it's been like a zillion years since I've added anything to my blog! Life goes on! I'll try to be brief and still get you all caught up on the Kiemele family goings-on!

I keep reading on my friends' blogs how their husbands are the greatest husbands in the world. Well, I have my own story, but like I said, I'll keep it brief. So for my birthday (Feb. 13), Rob informs me three days in advance that we are going to Vegas for my birthday with Spleeve and Stephanie. He has already called my parents and arranged weekend babysitting! We left on Valentine's Day and headed off! The big surprise was Friday night-Rob had said that we had tickets to a show and I could not for the life of me think of what show he and Spleeve would take me and Stephanie to. After dinner on Friday night we found out! They had bought tickets to send their wives to see the Chippendales show at the Rio. Huh??? And not only did they get us tickets, they got us the best seats in the house-front and center! Steph and I had a great time! It was so much fun! Especially watching Steph yell at the hot guys! I know people say that most of the dancers are gay, but who cares, they are still hot!

Do I look happy?

After the show, we met up with the boys again and headed up to the Voodoo Lounge on the 51st floor of the Rio. We had a great time up there dancing, drinking, and taking in the view. Rob really enjoyed the ride in the glass elevator! He actually hates heights so he really didn't enjoy it at all! But we did have fun taunting him about it as he had his face to the wall!

Thanks for a great weekend! I won't forget this birthday!
